Position Overview: The Parish Administrator for Spirit of Hope Catholic Community is a part-time stipend self-employed position. The Parish Administrator maintains a warm, welcoming, orderly atmosphere for parishioners and others who call or visit the church. The parish administrator is the primary person responsible for the management of all administrative functions, human resources, church office personnel, parish facilities, and all related processes and systems for the parish. The role is intended to coordinate all pastoral activities and clergy supports as needed and expressed by the community. By ensuring that the practical matters are correctly handled, the Administrator will help create the environment for excellent functioning of all dimensions of parish ministry. The parish administrator directs these efforts within a framework of shared ministry and Catholic values consistent with the mission, vision and purpose of Spirit of Hope Catholic Community and the Holy Cross Old Catholic Diocese of the Midwest.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 2 to 4
Serves as person in charge of parish day-to-day operations; provides direct supervision to parish staff and coordinates the clergy who serve in support of the parish.
Directs the operation and effective practices of the parish office.
Helps to promote and maintain a welcoming environment for all who visit the parish
Maintains good working relationships with all who have a vested interest in our parish community.
Consults with and advises the Circle of Servant Leaders (CSL) and other staff on all matters appropriate to their specific role and responsibility.
Manages the parish community database.
Attends office, parish and Diocesan meetings as necessary.
Orders products needed for liturgy at the parish including candles, wine, hosts getting direction from Sr. Pastor
COMMUNICATIONS 5 to 7
Maintains effective communications with all who have a vested interest in our parish community.
Oversees and updates and maintains the church website and calendar.
Oversees and promotes SOH through social media and other external communications and marketing in coordination with the Sr. Pastor and CSL
Monitors and ensures website and external calendar are current and reflect accurate information for the general public.
Develops, plans and designs the weekly electronic newsletter to be distributed on Wednesdays of each week.
PERSONNEL / HUMAN RELATIONS RESPONSIBILITIES 2 to 4
Coordinates the services of Clergy and other personnel in service of the expressed needs of the parish community.
Collaborates with the Canonical Pastor and other clergy as needed for Sacramental services.
Coordinates SOH volunteers for the following areas: musicians, lectors, sacristans, eucharistic ministers, and IT support
Schedules meetings as needed for pastors, volunteers, and others in service of the community.
Ensures payments coordination with the financial team.
FACILITIES MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILTIES 1 to 2
Works to maintain the positive relationship with Saint Anne's Episcopal Church and Vestry members.
Oversees coordination of grounds commitments and coordinates with Saint Anne's on fall and spring clean-up days.
Schedules all meetings with the St. Anne's office
Ensure monthly rent check with St. Anne's
TOTAL HOURS 10 to 17 /wk
Preferred Education and Experience:
College degree and/or 1 year experience in parish administration, or business management.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proven record of leadership and at least three years of experience in leadership. Preferred but not required.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong ability to work effectively with staff and volunteers.
Strong organizational and record keeping skills.
Experience in stewardship principles appreciated.
Proficient with MS Office, and other systems as needed.
