We found a new home! With your input from our last annual meeting, with everyone’s ongoing prayers, and with the investigatory efforts of the Circle of Servant Leaders and the administrative team for Spirit of Hope, we have found a place to call our own, just in time for the Easter season!
We are, quite literally, just a short bounce down the road from St. Anne's. We will now be located at 680 MN-62 in Mendota Heights. The church space is all our own for the first time in our history as a community! Though we will share the space with the Sonshine Learning Center, the daycare facility is only open from 7 a.m.- 5:30 p.m., Mondays through Fridays, and should not interfere with our evening or weekend activities. We are so very grateful to Pastor Connie McCallister, and the entire Sonshine Learning Center staff, as they welcome us with open arms to use the church space.
Our physical move of the office and our belongings took place on March 13th. Our new parish administrator, Ingrid Mattsson, organized teams of volunteers to help with the move and the setup in the new location. A huge thank you to all who were able to help in the move. Many hands made it possible to finish in just several hours. Thank you as well to all those who helped in preparing for the move, sorting, boxing and labeling. Everyone is working hard to prepare the space for our first in-person service on Sunday, March 24th, Palm Sunday. Moving forward, we will celebrate our first - and all our regular masses that follow - at the time the community requested: 10:00 am on Sunday mornings.
We (Ingrid, Bishop Marty, and Rev. Corein and the Circle of Servant Leaders) want to take this opportunity to express our deep gratitude to Reverend Jennifer McNally and the Saint Anne's community for sharing their space and faith with us for 16 years. Saint Anne's will always be the place of our birth as a community.
We are so humbled by and indebted to you, our community - for sticking together with us through thick and thin and for being the special people that you all are. You bring our hearts joy as you live into what it means to be an active and vibrant community in today’s world.
We look forward to seeing you on Palm Sunday where we can wave our palms and process together into our new worship space. Our grand entrance can only better help us understand the significance of Jesus' procession into Jerusalem to face his extraordinary and undeniable destiny.
See you there!
